Our pet shampoos are formulated for dogs. Cats have a very different skin pH and metabolize certain ingredients differently — in particular, cats cannot process many essential oils safely and should not be bathed with products containing them. Our pet products are labeled for their intended use, so please follow the guidance on each product page. When in doubt, consult your veterinarian before using any new grooming product on your pet.

Yes. Our pet grooming products are free from harsh sulfates, synthetic fragrances, parabens, and artificial dyes — the same standards we hold our human products to. Dogs have more sensitive skin than many people realize, and conventional pet shampoos often contain aggressive surfactants that strip the coat and irritate the skin.

For most dogs, bathing every four to six weeks is sufficient to keep them clean without over-stripping their natural coat oils. A gentle natural shampoo is especially important if bathing frequently, since harsh products can worsen skin issues. Always follow up a bath with a thorough rinse to remove all shampoo residue, which can cause itching if left on the skin.

We recommend using products specifically formulated for pets rather than human soap on your animals. While our human products are gentle and plant-based, they’re formulated for human skin pH, which is different from dogs. Our dedicated pet shampoos are the right tool for the job.

All are made with naturally derived ingredients and are free from DEET and other synthetic chemical compounds found in conventional outdoor products.
