Our candles are made with a coconut-soy wax blend — a natural, renewable alternative to paraffin. Coconut-soy burns cleaner and cooler than paraffin, produces significantly less soot, and holds fragrance beautifully without the need for synthetic additives.

Our candles are scented with either pure essential oils or phthalate-free, skin-safe fragrance oils — never with synthetic fragrance compounds that contain harmful additives. We’re intentional about what goes into the wax because whatever burns in your candle ends up in the air you breathe.

We use cotton wicks, which are free from lead and zinc — materials sometimes found in lower-quality wicks that can release harmful compounds when burned. Cotton wicks burn evenly and cleanly, which means a better scent throw, a more consistent melt pool, and less mushrooming or carbon buildup on the wick tip.

For your first burn, let the candle stay lit long enough for the entire surface to melt to the edges — this prevents tunneling. Trim your wick to about 1/4 inch before each burn and never burn for more than four hours at a time. Our blog post on 8 candle care tips covers everything you need to know.

Burn time varies by candle size. Our 7.5 oz candles are rated for approximately 40 to 50 hours of burn time under ideal conditions — trimmed wick, no drafts, and burns kept to four hours or less at a stretch. You’ll find the estimated burn time listed on each individual product page.

Absolutely — and we encourage it. Once your candle is finished, place the jar in the freezer for an hour and any remaining wax will contract and pop out easily. Remove the wick tab, wash the jar with warm soapy water, and you have a clean glass container ready to repurpose.
